Our Batiks by Design fabrics that we refer to as traditional batik design fabrics are batiks because of their designs. 
They are 100% cotton and screen printed using batik designs from Indonesia that date back more than 1000 years. As an Indonesian friend of mine said to me, "If they had the machines over a thousand years ago when they began making these fabrics, they would have used them!". Anywhere in southeast Asia that you travel you will encounter these type of batik designs. We guarantee the quality of our fabrics and we know you'll love the designs. They are wonderful when used with Bali batik and hand dyed fabrics. Check out our gallery to see what we've made with them.
We are back from Houston's Quilt Market and Festival and starting to add new products that we bought from Indonesia and at Market. We'll be highlighting some of those items here on our home page. Fire Within (left) is an awesome pattern that uses fusible applique to create the glowing piece. The designer embellished the leaves with wonderful stitching and a few crystals to add some sparkle. Surrounded (right) is fun to use with your scraps of traditional and Bali fabrics. Or reach into your scrap bag to make this minature to one of 4 other sizes! A fun, strip pieced quilt. |

Give this quilt a rousing round of applause! Alaska Toss (left) is easy and the slight curves are even easier. Even I don't like curves that much and this was simple. The pattern gives great instructions. Been wanting to try something new? This is it! It's one of our most popular patterns at the quilt shows we've done recently. Circles is an outstanding quilt that we've made totally in Bali fabrics. Isn't it rich and luxurious? This is another new design from Random Threadz that plays with the Drunkard's Path blocks in a unique way. We ran out of this pattern in one day in Des Moines! It's gorgeous! |
